2011 Maybach Guard – Armored Super Car

2011 Maybach 62 Guard Armored Limousine

Daimler introduced they’re new armored limousine that has an astonishing 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds. This way not only are you bullet proof but you can also outrun you attackers. With a price tag of just over 426K I wouldn’t expect anything less.

“ Daimler introduced armored limousine Maybach Guard, built on a production model Maybach 62. Specialists of the German company tried to make a new “armored” Maybach Guard visually very discreet and only a specialist eye will be able to distinguish the Guard from the standard Maybach 62.

The Maybach 62 is already a very heavy car, but the steel and Kevlar that is used to reinforce and secure the cabin only add 900 lbs (400 kg)to the final weight.

On assurances of Engineers, Maybach Guard is the only armored vehicle in the world who is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds(0-60 mph just 5.7 seconds) and the ability to hit an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km / h).  In comparison, the Audi A8 L W12 Security vehicle can do the 0-60 mph run in 7.3 seconds and hit a top speed of only 130 mph. FYI the secure A8 L weighs 1560 pounds more than the stock version, compared to only a 900 lb increase with the Maybach Guard.

Like other car brand, the new Maybach Guard can be supplemented with equipment at the customer’s choice.

The Maybach Guard is all about comfort, individualization, luxury and extremely high levels of security. All of the armor is certified by independent bodies which carry out an on the spot quality inspection that is very stringent.

After the Maybach Guard gets all of its protection, it moves on to the standard assembly line in Daimler’s Sindelfingen production plant. Here highly skilled craftsman insure that every detail is paid attention to in the individualization process to assure that occupants enjoy the same level of comfort they are used to in the standard Maybach 62. No word on pricing yet, but as soon as we get any more information we will keep you posted.

Other features previously optional on Guard models included a protected fuel tank, run-flat tires, and an exterior intercom system. Our best guess is these features will continue to be offered on the new 2011 Maybach Guard, but at extra cost. Maybach isn’t talking pricing for the new armored model, but expect it to command a decent premium over the 62?s base price of $426,250.”
