The AMS Performance Alpha 12 R35 GT-R is shaping up to be a world-class package. The Alpha 12 is a performance kit that’s currently undergoing testing and will soon be released to the public. Interested buyers, be ready for some serious performance. The Nissan GTR in stock form is a legitimate supercar capable of taking on the best the world has to offer. A GTR equipped with an AMS Alpha 12 package, may very well catapult it into hyper-car territory.
Let’s talk numbers. The Alpha 12 produces over 1,300 whp at 35 psi of boost. It runs the quarter mile in 9.05 seconds at 166.66mph, a world record. During that run their V-box logged the Alpha 12 GTR’s 60-130mph pull in just 3.46 seconds. Mind you, this was accomplished with 90 degree track temps, high humidity, and a density altitude of 2,745. The conditions were far from ideal, but not only did the Alpha 12 GTR set blistering times, it did so after three grueling hours on the dyno and 10 passes at the track. All done without a single hitch, which is saying a lot for a car that’s modified to produce a mind numbing amount of power and doing so reliably in tough conditions.
According to AMS their engineers have been hard at work trying to find a perfect solution to reinforce the block to handle such power. Mission accomplished?
No exact word on what the Alpha 12 kit will cost as of now, but keep in mind that the lower Alpha 10 kit runs for $63,995.

Let’s take a step back and put this performance into perspective for a moment. Their AMS Alpha 9 kit upgrades the Nissan GTR to an astonishing 900 horsepower, and that was dubbed the Veyron killer. As seen below. Also note that the Alpha 9 does 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds. Though, I wouldn’t expect much of an improvement on that figure with the Alpha 12 kit, considering that AMS has stated that they don’t gain 100% traction until fifth gear. Nonetheless, if an Alpha 9 is able to take on the Veyron, what prey is there for the Alpha 12?
