Lamborghini Urus SUV makes its bow at Beijing 2012….
At the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, the Lamborghini Urus SUV unveiled as the latest entry into the luxury sport utility market. The long awaited arrival of this Super-car SUV concept had been surrounded by wild speculation regarding every conceivable aspect. Fortunately, the designers at the storied super-car manufacturer did not disappoint. Touted as the Lamborghini for every day use, the Urus is a four door 4X4 power house with an estimated 600 hp that is expected to click in around $200,000.00+. That kind of horsepower compares to the best of all super-cars currently available.
Lamborghini designed this SUV with luxury as well as off-road capabilities so that family outings and taking friends out for a drive takes on a whole new meaning. By the looks of the pictures, the Lamborghini Urus SUV is set up with 24” wheels and very aggressive tires which match the equally aggressive lines and stance of this uber-yute. The overall visual experience screams wild exuberance and unlimited power. Lamborghini is planning the production roll out for the 2016 year release with a target of 3,000 vehicles being built. The car maker is reluctant to openly discuss all aspects of the super SUV since scheduled launch is four years away.
The name (Urus) is derived from a Spanish bull which is smaller than other fighting bulls but much more nimble and quick and can hold its own against all comers. This is one slick looking SUV that looks like it is moving at 150 mph even when standing still. The Lamborghini Urus is probably the coolest and sleekest SUV to come along – ever. The wheel base is 4″ longer than the BMW X6 M and with a lower ride height than any competitors, the Urus is a long, lean and mean super-car SUV.
According to Lamborghini spokesmen, the Urus will be released in the UK and USA markets only in order to capture those inclined to drive the very best in a sport utility vehicle. Unfortunately, we won’t see this bad boy running down the road for a few years. Tell us what you think about this latest Lambo….
