Is it possible for a hybrid to be a proper performance oriented vehicle? Or, will they be forever subjugated by only those who enjoy oversized R/C cars? Of course no true car enthusiast is going to appreciate an electric motor and a car that has to be plugged into a wall. On top of that the terms hybrid and performance have become contradictory by nature. However, it may be time to prepare ourselves to rethink the capabilities of hybrid technology as Porsche shatters all stereotypes with their 911 GT3 R Hybrid.

Mopar 2011 Challenger Drag Pak


Mopar’s V10 Challenger Drag Pak finally hit the strip during the recent NHRA Gatornationals event. It was long time enthusiast Frank Teuton who became the first owner of this special edition Mopar, and thus the first person to show the world exactly what this amazing machine is capable of. Of course it didn’t disappoint as the numbers certainly lived up to the hype with a 9.78 elapsed time in the AA/SA category.

BMW M3 Pickup Spotted at The Nürburgring

BMW seen testing its most recent creation at the Nürburgring, a BMW M3 Pickup.  When these pictures were released it was unsure if this monster was a production vehicle or not. Unfortunately BMW has explained that it is a one off custom built car for BMW Motorad supplier. Judging by the passenger’s goofy grin I’d say chances are it’s pretty fast.

The Ultimate Driving Machine History | BMW 3 series chronicle

Originally, the goal, for designers and engineers of the BMW M3, was to build a powerful and yet lightweight automobile derived from the BMW 3 series. The resulting 5000 examples hand -built by BMW Motorsport culminated with the introduction of the first series, which was based on the E30 platform in 1986 in Europe. The E30 M3 remained in production until 1990 and was replaced in 1992 with the next generation E36 M3.


The E30 M3 quickly became one of the most successful touring cars in history. Equipped with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with a twin-cam-four valve head with Bosch fuel injection, the E30 M3 hit a top speed of 140 miles per hour and hit zero to sixty in less than 7 seconds. The vehicle weighed only 2850 pounds and had a 5-speed manual transmission.

Daimler introduced they’re new armored limousine that has an astonishing 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds. This way not only are you bullet proof but you can also outrun you attackers. With a price tag of just over 426K I wouldn’t expect anything less.

199mph Pagani Zonda Crash

Major Pagani Zonda crash on the Italian A10 Autostrada. Forensics revealed that the driver lost control around 320 km/h (198.8 mph), causing the 1.5 million dollar super-car to spin and hit the guardrail on its right side. After that the Zonda lost a wheel and over turned and shot  across the roadway and collided with a Mercedes who the driver was apparently racing.  Both the 28-year-old driver and his 21-year-old passenger were unhurt thanks to a carbon-composite safety cell.

Who said supercars are not safe.

Bentley Sets New Ice Speed Record! During the winter the Baltic Sea on the coast of  Finland becomes a wasteland of ice and snow. A local four – time rally champion Juha Kankkunen, decided used a 2007 Bentley Continental GT to break the ice speed record of 184mph.  He attempted to hit the 200 mph mark, and came up a bit short with an official speed reading of 199.83 mph.
