Assetto Corsa Developer Interview:
Automotive enthusiasts are unquestionably a passionate bunch. For some the craving for speed must be itched whether on the road, race course, or even within the comfort of their own home burning pixelated rubber. In the past, it was slightly more difficult to find racing games that were immersive enough to satisfy such a craving. Today, however, technology has improved to the point where certain games are realistic enough to receive a seal of approval from various professional racers and amateurs alike.
One such title is Assetto Corsa, which is a racing simulation currently under development by the Italian based Kunos Simulazioni. Kunos has quickly developed a rich history of delivering some of the most authentic racing games that are available, and Assetto Corsa is shaping up to continue that success.
AutoDebut was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity of asking Kunos Simulazioni a few questions regarding their upcoming work, to find out what Assetto Corsa is all about.
The Wheelsandmore McLaren MP4-12C looks absolutely deadly, “Toxique Evil” as it’s been coined to be precise. The appearance modifications are rather clean, if you don’t mind the offset Trim-Line-Design stripe that runs the length of the car. Which often doesn’t sit well when applied to vehicles with the type of class that McLaren exudes, but Wheelsandmore was able to pull the look off without diminishing the MP4-12C’s sharp, high class appeal. Complementing the stripe are color matched light-weight forged wheels which run 9.0×20“ and 12.0×21“.
At this point we all know what the Scion FR-S and FT 86 platform is all about, it’s built for a fun and purist automotive experience. Plain and simple. Scion has taken every opportunity they can to hammer that point home and show off what the FR-S is capable of on the track. Point taken, the community is sold and the demand for the FR-S has been pretty remarkable.

ABT has a rich history in customizing Audi vehicles for both aesthetics and performance, and they’ve recently brought that expertise to the A5 in what they call the ABT Audi AS5. They describe their makeover as “sporty elegance”, which in my book sounds rather fitting.
“For us, it was important to combine this car’s extraordinary design with our ideas and thus to underscore the car’s character. Its increased performance and its body parts form a unit”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt. The traditional Bavarian company’s managing director is very excited about this automobile. “If you look at the AS5, you want to take in every inch of its marvellous silhouette, and if you sit in it, all you want is to get it on the road. This coupé is really a power pack.“
Hennessey Performance has recently announced that they’ll be releasing a twin turbo upgrade kit (HPE800) for the McLaren MP4-12C.
“We’ve been taking fast cars and have been making them faster for over twenty years,” said company founder and president John Hennessey. “I spent a lot of time around the new 12C at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed and was very impressed. We’re excited to have the opportunity to take a great car and give it our own special performance touch while giving 12C owners a uniquely aggressive appearance”.
German ingenuity meets British class in the new Kahn Design Porsche Panamera Wide Track Edition. A stock Panamera will elicit all sorts of different responses, you’ll find a lot who will praise it for its performance and style, while on the other hand, just as many have been known to bash the Panamera for its bland appearance and unattractive lines. It’s definitely one of those cars, at least in terms of style, where you either love it or hate it. But, could the improvements made by Kahn Design be the Panamera that gets everyone excited?
