Nico Rosberg claimed his maiden F1 victory for Mercedes at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix with a perfectly controlled drive from pole position. The last time a works Mercedes entered car won a race was with Juan Manuel Fangio at the 1955 Italian GP. Back in F1 as a constructor after they bought out the 2009 championship winning Brawn GP team, their first victory was always going to be a question of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’. Rosberg delivered in style on a hazy Sunday afternoon as he led home the McLaren duo of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in second and third.

2012 Formula One Season officially kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix

 

Jenson Button delivered a peerless drive from start to finish taking victory in the 2012 Australian Grand Prix. Over 58 laps of the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, the Briton started second on the grid alongside his pole-sitting team-mate Lewis Hamilton. After launching off the start line better than Hamilton as the lights went out, he held the inside line into the first corner and then led the race all the way to the checkered flag leading home Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Hamilton in an exciting and eventful season opener.

McLaren Release’s Details on the MP4-12C!

McLaren, known by most as due to the Mercedes McLaren SLS, known by the more well informed for producing one of the fastest production cars of all time, the McLaren F1 (In fact the McLaren F1 is still the fastest naturally aspirated production vehicle). All of this was influenced by McLaren’s racing heritage which is now named Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Those in the market for a supercar in the range of $230,000 will be glad to know that racing heritage shows its true colors in the new McLaren MP4-12C.

Mercedes debuted their newest electric vehicle in Detroit. If you thought the electric supercar thing would not catch on…. you were wrong (as you always are)! Mercedes has in fact started what they call “AMG Performance 2015″ where they will continue to incorporate electric vehicles into their line-up.

Mercedes was able to bring the performance numbers extremely close to its flagship super car the SLS AMG. Which was extremely necessary when trying to convince true car lovers. Continue reading »

2012 SLS AMG Roadster

It’s official now. Say hello to the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster. The SLS Roadster will most likely keep the 6.2 liter engine, however expect a performance drop due to added weight and less structural rigidity. Since this car is competing with the Audi R8 and Gallardo convertible we predict the car will cost around $200K.
