Ride-along with the ALMS at Sebring GT class winning BMW. The action shown is from the start of the race and includes some rubbing with a prototype, the contact caused a flat tire and led to some minor drama in the pits. Despite the setback the Rahal BMW was able to bounce back and easily find its stride once again.

Last weekend’s ALMS event was a fantastic race, unfortunately the way in which they decided to broadcast the action didn’t meet the expectations of many fans. As you may know the entire event aired over an internet stream, via espn3.com, with a short recap show the following day on ABC.
Physical, exhilarating, and grueling, all words that can aptly describe the prestigious 12 hours of Sebring and the 2011 reincarnation was no different. As the 12 hours of Sebring inches closer and closer the Corvette team whets our appetite with another excellent video. In episode two they take us in-house to discuss their engine building process and detail the similarities between their race and production based engines.
Highcroft Racing is set to debut their new Honda Performance Development ARX-01e LMP1 in the first round of the ALMS season, this weekend at Sebring. The defending champions will do battle with their familiar 3.4L V8 powering a highly revised aerodynamic and suspension package built by the engineers at Wirth Research.
Driver Simon Pagenaud had this to say about the Prototypes’ new-found aero efficiency – “The guys at Wirth Research have been doing a great job with the aero on the HPD ARX-01e – we don’t have much drag.”
The Highcroft team has performed well in all of the practice sessions thus far and appear to be ready for what’s sure to be a competitive race weekend. Stay tuned for further coverage.
The bad boys are back. Their first track to street video of the season gives viewers a brief glimpse of their testing that was conducted at Road Atlanta, in preparation for the first round of the ALMS season which takes place at Sebring this coming weekend.
